Once I had the dresser together I painted it black.
I picked out a design from my Silhouette library and manipulated it to fit the front of the dresser. I love the black on black, adds character, yet subtle.
I added some drawer pulls.
That's it for now, next step is to remake the drawer to allow for the plumbing and add a sink and taps to the top, ...soon, ...soon.
Oh, can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeletelove it!
ReplyDeleteOMG Faye - it's just gorgeous - can't wait to see it with a white sink!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's really going to POP..................
XOX
This is amazing..!!! 😍😍😍 loving the motif so bad! :D what did you use to make that?
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have a Silhouette Cameo so I picked an image and then skewed it to fit the project.
DeleteWow - just found your blog and your dresser project. I have a Silhouette Cameo as well and have a partially finished/mostly abandoned project like this sitting in my daughter's bedroom right now. I did one drawer out of 8 and got sidetracked by other more pressing projects (updating two bathrooms) since she's off at college and won't appreciate it anyway. Can I ask how you split up the design you used to fit the larger area of the dresser front? My original plan was to use a similar design on each drawer but I like your design more than my own plan : )
ReplyDeleteoops - looks as if I have to select "notify me" so I'll know when you respond :) Doing that with this one.
ReplyDeleteHi Julie, thanks for your nice comments. I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner, as you guessed, I got busy with life and the blog has taken second place. I look forward to a time when I can get back at it. As for you question about splitting up the design, I actually couldn't remember so I figured out how it can be done. Trace the part of the design that you want to split, one half at a time, copy a piece of it and open on a new worksheet, do the same thing with the other piece of it, open on it's own sheet, then stretch them to the same size. I hope you can follow that, if you have any questions just let me know :)
